A young agoraphobic woman is tormented by malevolent visions that begin to bleed into reality.

During the Middle Ages, a traveling executioner hires an apprentice to learn the finer points of torture and execution, and a young girl is given by her parents to a Catholic convent.

When an elderly priest died, the people in charge of his diocese discovered that it was a woman. Without anyone suspecting it, she had been practicing her vocation for years. Dismayed, the bishop decided to launch an investigation and asked the chancellor of the diocese to find out how, why and with what complicity such a deception was possible.

A two hour documentary on Johann Sebastian Bach. World-class musicians share their innermost thoughts and personal reflections on the power and genius of the most influential composer in history.

World-renowned conductor Herbert Von Karajan directs the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in this performance of Bach's Violin Concerto No. 2 for a New Year's Eve concert filmed in Berlin in 1984. Together with noted violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and gifted vocalists Judith Blegen, Helga Muller Molinari, Francisco Araiza and Robert Holl, Karajan and his orchestra present a remarkable performance of Bach's masterwork.

Filmed in Canada during the Bach 300 Festival the film demonstrates the stunning universality of Bach's music from a graceful cantata duet to a rousing fugue performed by a tap dance ensemble. It is a celebration of the music of J S Bach as it is played, danced, sung, jazzed, computed, tapped, electrified and busked by a wide range of internationally renowned artists. Among the performers highlighted in this spectacular homage are jazz pianist Keith Jarrett, Christopher Hogwood and the Academy of Ancient Music, contralto Maureen Forrester, cellist Anner Bylsma, the Canadian Bass and the National Tap Dance Company.
